On 7 April 1998, Dr. Zeynel Abidin ERDEM and his twin Brother Dr. Mehmet Nezih ERDEM bought Sultan II. Abdulhamid Han’s official seals he had used for 33 years at the auction in Paris.

Turkey had a big examination on claiming Ottoman Heritage by attenting the auction, while we On celebrate the 700th anniversary of Ottoman Empire. The seals are presented to Topkapı Palace as a gift with a ceremony. On 24 April 1998 Topkapı Palace hosted a historical day. The palace began to host two valuable seals of II. During the ceremony the Culture Minister, İstemihan Talay stated that “we should embrace all our cultural values that past brought to us. By caring about our history Erdem Brothers played the biggest role in this special and splendid event. We will take care of all our cultural values coming from our history and at the same time we will be ready to race with the world at levels of culture and arts. By this way, we found our place in the world.
