Zeynel Abidin Erdem, the Management Board Chairman of Erdem Holding and also the Chairman of Turkish American Businessmen Association, stated that Yapı Kredi – Pamukbank merger is a positive decision from the point of a stronger Turkish banking sector. Erdem who pointed out that the range and quality of services to be offered to Turkish depositors will enhance as a result of this merger, also emphasized that this decision has a nature that supports economic stability.
Erdem noted that a strong banking sector will contribute to Turkey in the pursuit of winning more confidence in international markets. Erdem, who pointed out that Turkey will definitely become a member of the European Union, added that Yapı Kredi – Pamukbank merger is also meaningful in direction of the EU’s economic requirements.

Foreigners pleased 
Erdem stated that, within the framework of investments by the US businessmen in Turkey, he will feel pleasure if a stronger and credible banking sector prevails in the country. Erdem ended his words as follows : “For the part of American businessmen, stable and hopegiving image of the Turkish economy and advancement in the EU process bear great importance. The merger is a positive development from the point of such expectations. If, our country does not leave the way to stability, investments from the US will rapidly increase and development process will accelerate.”
