Mardin is opening to the world with its 7000 years history and with its magnificent wealth of 7 languages being currently spoken by its people.

The Educational and Solidarity Foundation for Mardin Citizens in Istanbul, is uninterruptedly carrying their efforts to make Mardin a world-wide known city which has witnessed tens of different cultures in its history. Mustafa Sandal, a well known singer, will be contributing to this by giving a concert at the historical Theatre of Aspendos on 17th August at no payment to himself. A press conference was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel for the purpose of promoting this concert.

Nations exist by their past

Sandal, claiming that a nation can only stand and can put light onto its future with its history, said "I am so happy for having the chance to contribute to Mardin's being taken under protection and to its promotion". Mr. Zeynel Abidin Erdem, Chairman of MAREV Organisation Committee, pointed out that Mustafa Sandal shall receive no payment for his concert.

Ticket at Sale

MAREV President Mr. İbrahim Özlen stated they are currently in collaboration with various bodies to have the UNESCO project of having Mardin under protection come into life again. Özden further stated that the tickets are at sale as of today and that all money raised shall go to the foundation.
