In the “First 500 Informatics Companies” research conducted by Interpromedia and aimed at establishing the largest informatics companies, Genpa took fifth place in the general listing, and first place in “Mobile Peripheral Hardware” category.

Interpro Informatics 500 awards were presented to the winners at a ceremony held at Kadir Has University on 27th June, 2006. Genpa, fifth largest company in the “First 500 Informatics Companies” of 2005, realized a great success in the fastest growing mobile telephone (mobile peripheral hardware) category, coming in first based on sales revenue.

358 million YTL revenue
Genpa General Manager Fahri Tugay, evaluating Genpa’s first place with a revenue of 358 million YTL in mobile peripheral hardware sales, amounting nationwide to 1 billion 737 million YTL in 2004 and to 2 billion 282 million YTL in 2005, has said, “Genpa, proving that it is a company always ready for the new, has added a new page to its success story by coming in fifth in the general listing of “First 500 Informatics Companies, Turkey 2005” prepared by Interpromedia, who evaluate companies by their activities and size, and first in the mobile telephone category. This success, of which we are justifiably proud, has been the best proof that the path we are following in realizing our vision of being a leader in the distribution of modern products and services is the right one. We have achieved this success through the support and selfless dedication of our shareholders, suppliers, business partners and personnel. I would like to say thank you once again to those who have contributed. Our aim for the coming years is to further our position in the busy, active and fast developing telecommunications sector and to continue being a leader in the development of informatics in our country.”

Genpa supplies leading brands of mobile telephones and consumer electronics products to end users through a network of more than two thousand sales points in Turkey. Along with the services in partnership with Turkcell, Genpa, as the Turkish distributor, sells Nokia, BenQ Mobile, Motorola and Samsung mobile telephones and accessories, plus consumer electronics such as digital cameras, Mp3 Players, video cameras, DVD/VCD Players, computers and accessories, audio systems and home cinema packages. Genpa also has the distinction of being the first distributor with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 Environment Administration System, OHSAS 18001 Work Health and Work Safety Certificates issued by ABS QE, one of the world’s foremost certification authorities.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erdem Holding, Zeynel Abidin Erdem, commented on the accomplishment of Genpa in the “First 500 Informatics Companies” research and on the telecommunications sector. “I congratulate and extend my heartfelt thanks to our valued Genpa dealers in all cities of Turkey, our business partners and our personnel who work with such dedication,” he said. “Genpa, in the name of its principles and ideals, has stood firmly against the import of untaxed mobile telephones, has never made any concessions from those principles, even when it meant taking a loss in some years, and has paid its taxes on time and in full, fulfilling its duties toward its country. For all these reasons, it is a fact that Genpa fully deserves the award it has received in the “Interpro Informatics 500” evaluation.”
