The net sales of the companies on Turkey 500 list of Fortune specifying the biggest companies of Turkey has increased by 22 percent in 2011 rising to 553.2 billion TL in contrast to their net profits which fell by 2.8 percent compared to 2010. GENPA ranks 44th in the list based on Turkey 500 research of Business magazine Fortune. In evaluations under distinct headings, GENPA also ranked 2nd in the list of Electronic and Telecommunication under the “sectors” heading, and 31st under the “provinces” title within the list of the firms in Istanbul.

The research results show that although main activities of the companies have increased by 21.4 percent, the companies made substantial loss due to foreign currency debts due to 11.5 percent rise of the dollar and 16.8 percent rise of the Euro, which in turn had its effects on the profits. 419.7 billion TL of the net sales resulted from domestic and 133.5 billion TL from foreign sales. It was seen that increase in the net sales was rather due to sales abroad than domestic sales.
