Turkish-American Businessmen Association organized a Republic Day Ball. In his speech he delivered at the ball organized at The Marmara Hotel in Taksim, the Chairman of the Turkish-American Businessmen Association Mr. Zeynel Abidin Erdem stated that they were greatly happy to organize the traditional Republic Day Ball once again this year.

Dr. Erdem said that the first matter they primarily focus on was to increase the business volume between Turkey and the USA to the maximum level, far above US$ 6 million. Stating that the Association has been engaged in intensive lobby activities with regard to the issue of the so-called Armenian genocide draft bill, Mr. Zeynel Abidin Erdem, who participated in the Ball with his spouse Lawyer Emine Erdem, said, “The permanent solution in the Armenian genocide draft issue will be in the business worlds of the USA and Turkey.”

Talking at the Republic Day Ball organized by TABA, Mr. Erdem also said that they attach importance to the lobbying activities in relations with the USA. 

Also Mr. Juan Alsace, the Vice-Consul General of the USA to Istanbul, conveyed the pleasure he felt on account of the Republic Day Ball. Many guests including Mr. Nahit Menteşe, one of the previous Ministers of the Internal Affairs, and Mrs. Semra Özal, spouse of the deceased 8th President Turgut Özal, participated in the Ball.
