In the business world besides companies which grow overnight, there are those which grow gradually but with sound steps. The light for those companies which grow very rapidly is likely to soon die away.

In the last two months, we had quite a busy time as the Turkish-American Busınessmen Association. During this time, the TABA dinner at the Çırağan Palace where we hosted William Jefferson CLINTON, the 42nd President of the USA and Mesut YILMAZ, Deputy Prime Minister as keynote speakers was a truly memorable event and maybe the biggest success TABA had in its history.

During his speech, l took note of some of the important points President CLINTON made. President CLINTON states: "We must not let events of the past affect our future. Just 20 years ago, USA and Russia were two opposite poles in the world and now, they can cooperate on many issues. İn 21th century, people and countries will be more interdependent. The real meaning of globalization is dependency. Turkey must solve its problems with its neighbors, especially Greece. Integration with EU is of critical importance for Turkey. I believe that this will also accelerate Turkish-American relations." These are the words of a world leader but also of a friend of Turks. CLINTON has contributed greatly to Turkish-American relations. For the fırst time, an American leader has put the supporting of Turkey among the top 6 articles of his agenda of important problems. He is the first American President to make a speech at the Grand National Assembly. While Europe was defending the contrary, he has declared to the whole world that PKK is a terrorist organization. And he has applied pressure on the European countries to make Turkey a candidate member to the Union. I call out to our politicians, to media organizations and to NGO's. We must listen to these words of a world leader who also happens to be a friend of Turks. We must work hard towards making Turkey a leader country in the new era.
